CEED has developed range of training module to help organization to understand their GHG emission obligation and to identify the potential carbon trading opportunities.
A business guide to Trade Emission Reduction to give an overview of the Clean Development mechanism (CDM) Projects, including the background to the concept and the opportunities it presents to your business…

Services provided by CEED are designed to enhance the prospects of environment and ecosystems by working with civil societies, including local communities, and policy makers. CEED’s strength is the ability to integrate its activities into a coherent program that generates and disseminates new knowledge and fosters innovative change in the ways we resolve environmental problems. To cater to these values, we provide a spectrum of services, which include amongst others:

Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)

The purpose of the clean development mechanism (CDM) is defined in Article 12 of the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The CDM has a two-fold purpose:
(a) To assist developing Nations in achieving sustainable development, thereby contributing to the ultimate objective of the Convention, and
(b) To assist developed Nations in achieving compliance with part of their quantified emission limitation and reduction commitments under  Article 3.

CEED deals with energy, forestry and agriculture  CDM projects so as to meet the above two-fold purpose.  CEED also helps identify and define the Emission additionality, Financial additionality and Technological additionality for a CDM project as required by the UNFCCC.

To manage the carbon credit portfolio of the client, CEED offer following project development initiatives:

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is concerned with the relationship between the corporate sector and society, and focuses particularly on good corporate citizenship. The World Business Council for Sustainable Development defines it like this:

"Corporate Social Responsibility is the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as the local community and society at large."

At CEED we undertake Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assignments for industry and corporate clients. If you are an individual wanting to set yourself a challenge, a charitable organization looking to arrange a fundraising event in India or abroad, or a company planning a CSR project to engage with the wider community, CEED has a considerable range of solutions to meet the CSR requirements of its clients. Through dialogues with stakeholders, we prioritize material issues for the sustainable development of society and for business and help them to integrate with the Corporate Sustainability Policy.

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a tool that seeks to ensure sustainable development through the evaluation of those impacts arising from a major activity (policy, plan, program, or project) that are likely to have significant environmental effects. It is anticipatory, participatory and systematic in nature and relies on multidisciplinary input.

CEED helps:
  • Collect baseline data relevant to the project.
  • Identify the environmental impacts for a proposed project as per the guidelines specified in the Environmental (Protection) Act.
  • Identify the mitigation measures necessary for the identified impacts.
  • Prepare an Environmental Management Plan.

Corporate Environmental Management

Corporates in India are realizing that environmental performance makes good business sense. Thus an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) has a direct impact on profitability.  It gives direct cost saving through process efficiency with critical focus on waste, energy and material management.

CEED provides consultancy services to organizations, institutions and industries for the compliance with specific Environmental standards. At CEED we offer excellent solutions to companies faced with the challenge of integrating environmental considerations into their production and marketing plans.

CEED has developed a range of training module to help organization to understand their GHG emission obligation in order to reduce future risk, by implementing appropriate mitigative strategies and thereby identifying the potential carbon trading opportunities.

CEED’s tailor made in-house training introduces corporate managers to best practices regarding GHG emission management.  It gives an in-depth understanding of the Kyoto Protocol’s flexibility mechanism, its operating procedure, and examines the rapidly changing policy background, legal requirements and commercial opportunities offered by the framework.

The above specialized services are customized to meet the organizational requirement and are provided by highly qualified and experienced environmental experts.

Natural Resource Management

The Management of Natural Resource has assumed great significance, particularly during the second half of the 20th century. Ecology deals with the study of structure and function of nature. It provides the most scientific approach and methodology to understand and evaluate the present day environmental crisis, and to find ways and means to resolve the crisis so as to ensure a better tomorrow for the human race.

CEED undertakes following ecosystem services:

Management System Audits

Corporates in India are realizing that environmental performance makes good business sense. Thus an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) has a direct impact on profitability.  It gives direct cost saving through process efficiency with critical focus on waste, energy and material management.

CEED provides consultancy services to organizations, institutions and industries for the compliance with specific standards like:

  • Environmental Management System Audit (ISO 14000)

An EMS meeting the requirements of ISO 14001:2004 is a management tool enabling an organization of any size or type to:

  • identify and control the environmental impact of its activities, products or services, and to
  • improve its environmental performance continually, and to
  • implement a systematic approach to setting environmental objectives and targets, to achieving these and to demonstrating that they have been achieved.

  • Quality Management System Audit (ISO 9000)

The success of an organization comes with satisfied customers. To keep customers satisfied, the organization needs to meet their requirements. The ISO 9001:2008 standard provides a tried and tested framework for taking a systematic approach to managing the organization's processes so that they consistently turn out product that satisfies customers' expectations.

  • Occupational Health and Safety Advisory Services (OHSAS 18000)

OHSAS 18001 is an international occupational health and safety (OHS) management system standard. OHSAS 18001 is designed to enable organizations to demonstrate their commitment to providing a safe and efficient working environment by identifying and understanding their OHS risks and by improving upon their performance by actively managing these opportunities. Organizations that adopt the OHSAS 18001 standard see immediate benefits, such as improvement in worker safety consciousness and morale, reductions in accidents, claims and lost work days, and better preparedness for regulatory inspections.

  • Social Accountability Audit (SA 8000)

SA8000 is promoted as a voluntary, universal standard for companies interested in auditing and certifying labour practices in their facilities and those of their suppliers and vendors. It is designed for independent third party certification. SA8000 also provides for a social accountability management system to demonstrate ongoing conformance with the standard.

  • Integrated Management System (including EMS, QMS, OHSAS and SA)

An integrated management system is a management system that integrates all of an organization's systems and processes in to one complete framework, enabling an organization to work as a single unit with unified objectives. With an integrated system, organization becomes a unified whole, with each function aligned behind a single goal, thereby improving the performance of the entire organization.

Green House Gases (GHG) Accounting and Carbon Foot Printing

A carbon footprint is a measure of the impact our activities have on the environment, and in particular climate change. It relates to the amount of greenhouse gases produced in our day-to-day lives through burning fossil fuels for electricity, heating and transportation etc. The carbon footprint is a measurement of all greenhouse gases we individually produce and has units of tonnes (or kg) of carbon dioxide equivalent.

CEED assist companies in complying with national climate change regulations, participating in voluntary reporting initiatives or entering emerging greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions trading markets. CEED follows internationally accepted standards and tools for GHG accounting and helps organizations to reduce emissions.

Eco-tourism Services

Ecotourism is one of the fastest growing sectors in the tourism industry at present. It has attracted increasing attention in recent years, not only as an alternative to mass tourism, but also as a means of economic development and environmental conservation. CEED’s eco-tourism program include conducting eco-tour with the objective of nature appreciation and understanding, nature as a learning tool for human/business organization.

CEED conducts Eco-tours to areas rich in biodiversity, to create awareness and understanding of the nature, rural life, cultural and historical aspects.
