Integrated natural resource management is essential for long term sustainability of our natural environment, economy and quality of life. Environmental issues are complex and interlinked in nature, solutions for one problem can lead to negative consequences or create new environmental or socio-economic challenges. CEED’s strength is its ability to integrate the ecological aspects while dealing with the complex environmental issues.    

Biodiversity assessment is ‘an assessment of biological diversity of species present at a particular site’. For any developmental activities such assessment acts as effective tool in building up species-driven basis for the formulation of conservation policies and actions.CEED follows a standard practice to conduct biodiversity assessment by involving experienced field biologists, taxonomical experts who specializes in local flora and fauna. CEED adopt a collaborative effort with individuals, scientific institutions and local communities in drawing the conservation plans and while presenting the survey data to various organizations. CEED follows a carefully selected methodology while executing the survey. The following are the scope and applications:

1. Background Investigation: identify need and objective of the survey, obtain all available bio-diversity information for the area, prepare a stratification map of area and determine the number of sampling sites to be surveyed, etc.
2. Selection of appropriate team members: based on the taxonomic groups to be surveyed, select the survey team, organize and purchase equipments and supplies and logistical planning.
3. Conducting field surveys: for field identifications CEED team uses sophisticated equipments such as GPS enabled camera, video and sound recorders, complimented with other visual and physical aids.

During field survey, specimens of important and/or rare species and those which   cannot be identified are collected and preserved for future reference work.             For surveying different floral and faunal groups, CEED employ scientifically proved       field techniques capable of recording the minute details such as breeding and feeding behavior, nesting and other characteristics.

Accounting for emissions can help identify reduction opportunities there by increased material and energy efficiency.
